After reading Freefall, I have spent several months looking forward to Ms. Abramson's next book. As expected, Royal Target is packed with enough action to keep the reader's interest and enough suspense to keep the reader guessing until the end of the book. I had high expectations and this book didn't disappoint.

Traci Hunter Abramson has filled her book with enough action to keep the book moving. Having read her previous work, I was surprised to find that there is not as much action in Royal Target as in her prior work. This book moves very well. At the same time, it is not on a race to the finish. This book is definitely a romance with action/thriller padding.

The author manages to incorporate a great deal of family values into her storyline. The royal family of Meridia is the focal point of this book. They are very close-knit. When Meridia and America join forces to build an American naval base on Meridia's shores, sinister threats toward the members of the royal family begin pouring in. In response, the CIA sends Agent Janessa Rogers to pose as the fiance of Prince Garrett Fortier.

As Garrett and Janessa are thrown together to protect both the remainder of the royal family and each other, they find that their feelings for each other are growing as well. Ms. Abramson uses her storyline to illustrate how danger can draw a family even closer together.

Royal Target is geared in large part toward females of the LDS persuasion. It has a storyline that is morally very clean. At the same time, there is romance enough to make a girl's heart flutter. Adult women and older teens will enjoy reading this book. The LDS faith plays a prominent role in the lives of the two main characters, Garrett and Janessa. This book portrays some of the challenges that members of the church can face, both socially and in employment.

Ms. Abramson has turned out another easy read. This book has a smooth flow. Royal Target is an enjoyable way to pass the time. It is a good book for busy moms who have to cram a book in when they have a rare ten minutes to spare. While this is not heavy reading and is not necessarily the book that everyone will be raving about, it is a delight to read.
