This is a work of LDS fiction that takes place in the pre-mortal world. In this world we have everything that we have on earth except a physical body. When I say that we have everything that includes family groups, pets, mountains, schools, waterfalls, etc, and all the emotions that we experience here.

The main characters are a family group of three brothers, Samual, Ammon, Luke and their sister, Elizabeth. We see how Lucifer tries to lead these siblings astray by promising that if they follow him they will be saved. Lucifer is as nasty and dark as you would expect him to be. His main helper, Master Balaam, was a trusted teacher who fell under the spell of Lucifer's charm. It is now his job to bring the brothers to the darker way of thinking. He is almost successful but the plan is thwarted at the last minute.

The book is well written because you definitely feel both the light side of a loving eternal family and the dark side of the followers of Satan but I had to keep reminding myself that it isn't LDS doctrine and that it is just one author's opinion. It is weird in an sci-fi/fantasy sort of way. There is much that demonstrates the LDS teachings of a loving Heavenly Father and the Plan of Salvation. It talks of the Savior and his great love for us and very strongly identifies our free agency both in the pre-mortal world and the world to come.
